Words & Music by James Nihan

A candlelight vigil she promised to keep
For those not awake and those not asleep
Seekers and dreamers who, acting as one
Encircled the altar like rays of the sun

The strands of her hair were twisted in braids
Like rivulets falling in raven cascades
The blanket she wore looked more like a shroud
As she was engulfed in a salvia cloud
The voices fell silent, the chaotic din
Gave way to a voice that spoke from within

Sister mitote, mi niña del sol
The dreamer inside you is taking control
Shifting and lifting the veil of your mind
Changing the laws that have kept you confined
As you seek perfection, becoming aware
Sister mitote, you're already there

She called in the angels- the elements, too
And with crystals and totems her medicine grew
Relieved by a brother who knelt in her place
She lay in the shadows, a glow on her face
And closing her eyes she woke in a dream
Where the jaguar did cry and the eagle did scream

Sister mitote, mi niña del sol
The dreamer inside you is taking control
Shifting and lifting the veil of your mind
Changing the laws that have kept you confined
Turning your fears into feathers of flight
Quick as the burst of the first morning light
As you seek perfection, becoming aware
Sister mitote, you're already there

Sister mitote, mi niña del sol
The dreamer inside you is taking control
Shifting and lifting the veil of your mind
Changing the laws that have kept you confined
Turning your fears into feathers of flight
Quick as the burst of the first morning light
Creating the dream that is heaven on earth
Feeling the love you were given at birth
As you seek perfection, becoming aware
Sister mitote, you're already there
You're already there, already there
